Youth Appreciation Night

On Friday, January 31st, the Concordia Men’s Hockey team played Hamline University at the Oscar Johnson Arena in St. Paul.  But that wasn’t the only thing going at at the rink that night, 16 players from the New Directions Hockey program got the chance to go to the game for free with a parent and also receive a free inSports tee shirt.

These players get to play hockey about twice a week thanks to the help of Pastor Dale Hulme, who started the program in 1985.  Luckily for these players they got to see a very exciting overtime win for the Concordia Cobbers.  Senior captain Caleb Suderman scored both goals for the Cobbers in their 2-1 win.  After the game the New Directions players got a chance to meet some of the Cobbers and get autographs after the game.  These players were also given applications to attend the inSports Hockey camp this July.  These players will have a chance to be apart of a camp that they will never forget!

Right now inSports has 6 scholarships available for the players from New Directions and we are looking to be able to fund even more if we get enough donations.  If you are interested in getting more players to the camp you can DONATE HERE.  These kids had a great time watching a college hockey game and meeting the players, it was a great experience for the Concordia team as well.
