InSports Hockey ClinicPracticing on the same ice as the pros is a dream for many. InSports teamed up with New Directions of North Minneapolis to host 22 youth hockey players at an InSports hockey clinic at the Xcel Energy Center. The hour on the ice was spent polishing shooting, puck handling, and skating skills. Following the camp, each student had the opportunity to write down 3 personal goals they had as well as a health goal they would like to accomplish this year. Athletes went home with a healthy MATTER snack, goal sheet, and great memories! New Directions Youth MinistryNew Directions is a club for all youth in North Minneapolis between 12 and 19 years old. New Directions offers Advocacy, Counseling, and programs such as Tutoring, Hockey, Figure Skating, Religious Activities, Peer Counseling, Outdoor Adventure and Young Neighbors to promote personal growth and self sufficiency. Members plan monthly outings, raise money for club activities and help out in their community. Check out more picture from the evening here! Join #TeamKraftThe InSports Foundation will be participating in Giving Hearts Day on February 8th 2018 in honor of Zach Kraft, a passionate hockey player from Fargo who lost his battle to cancer at the young age of 22. The funds raised during this day are used to grant youth hockey players from Fargo, Moorhead, and Grand Forks with the Zach Kraft Scholarship which helps waive the fees of their hockey expenses. Help us keep Kraft’s legacy alive and kids in the game by donating on February 8th! Kraft LegacyGrowing up in Grand Forks, naturally Zach began playing hockey as a kid and instantly became passionate about the sport. When he moved to Fargo his sophomore year of high school, he continued playing hockey, resulting in scoring the game winning goal in the 2012 North Dakota state championship game – which he always dreamed about! Kraft went on to play on various teams in the Midwest, including appearances on the Fargo Force, Aberdeen Wings, and Wisconsin Wilderness. Kraft ScholarshipThe Zach Kraft scholarship was inspired by Zach’s dedication to the game of hockey and his ability to encourage others to give their best on and off the ice. Through this scholarship we will inspire kids at a young age to work hard, set goals, and never stop believing in themselves. Last year we were honored to grant 5 families who were going through hardships the opportunity to allow their player to continue to stay in the game. Join our mission on Giving Hearts Day!
